  • Datadog (DDOG, Financial) unveiled three new log management features: Archive Search, Flex Frozen, and CloudPrem.
  • Flex Frozen extends log retention beyond seven years, aiding compliance-driven industries.
  • CloudPrem ensures data residency by allowing log management within customer infrastructure.

Datadog, Inc. (DDOG), a leader in monitoring and security for cloud applications, has announced substantial enhancements to its log management suite at the DASH conference, focusing on streamlining costs and compliance for regulated industries. The new capabilities encompass Archive Search, Flex Frozen, and CloudPrem, each targeting unique industry needs.

Archive Search empowers teams to query logs stored in cold storage without the need for re-indexing. This feature allows organizations to maintain their existing user workflows while accessing historical data seamlessly. With Flex Frozen, Datadog introduces a novel storage tier that allows log retention for over seven years, addressing critical audit and compliance requisites prevalent in sectors like financial services, healthcare, and insurance.

CloudPrem enables enterprises to leverage Datadog's indexing and search capabilities within their own infrastructure—responding to stringent data residency and sovereignty laws. This is particularly beneficial for organizations that must maintain sensitive operational data within specific geographical boundaries or internal servers.

Building upon the success of Flex Logs, a rapidly growing product since its launch, these features are designed to optimize logging costs significantly without compromising on operational efficiency or user experience. Datadog continues to strengthen its competitive edge against specialized security information and event management (SIEM) solutions by catering to the compliance needs of heavily regulated industries.

Michael Whetten, Datadog's VP of Product, stated, "As compliance standards grow more complex and global data regulations tighten, organizations face mounting pressure to retain log data longer, search it faster and keep it where it belongs. With today's launches, Datadog makes it easier to manage logs, control their costs and stay compliant without sacrificing performance, accessibility or the user experience."
