GitLab Inc. (GTLB), a leading DevSecOps platform, announced its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, ending April 30, 2025. The company reported a substantial 27% increase in total revenue, amounting to $214.5 million compared to the same period last year.

The company achieved a GAAP gross margin of 88% and a non-GAAP gross margin of 90%. The GAAP operating margin improved to (16)% from (32)% in the previous year, while the non-GAAP operating margin achieved was 12%, showcasing a strong operational performance. Despite a GAAP operating loss of $34.6 million, GitLab recorded a non-GAAP operating income of $26.1 million, reflecting a positive turnaround of $29.9 million from the previous year.

GitLab also reported significant growth in its cash flow metrics, with operating cash flow reaching $106.3 million and non-GAAP adjusted free cash flow totaling $104.1 million, highlighting strong liquidity and operational efficiency.

Key customer metrics showed encouraging trends, with the number of customers generating more than $5,000 in annual recurring revenue (ARR) increasing by 13% to 10,104, and those with more than $100,000 in ARR growing by 26% to 1,288. The dollar-based net retention rate stood at 122%, reinforcing customer loyalty and expansion within existing accounts.

Looking ahead, GitLab expects revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 to be in the range of $226.0 million to $227.0 million. For the full fiscal year, the company anticipates revenue between $936 million to $942 million, with non-GAAP diluted net income per share forecasted at $0.74 to $0.75.
