Zoom Communications Inc. (ZM) announced the successful expansion of its Zoom Phone service to four additional major telecom circles in India: Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Karnataka (Bengaluru), and Andhra Pradesh & Telangana (Hyderabad). Licensed by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) India, this expansion now brings the service's coverage to a total of six circles, which also include the previously launched Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

By integrating AI-first modern telephony, Zoom Phone provides features such as PSTN calling capabilities and seamless integration with Zoom Contact Center. The service is designed as an add-on for existing paid Zoom customers, aiming to replace legacy PBX systems and support modern, distributed workforces across India.

Zoom Phone enables businesses to acquire native phone numbers even in regions where direct service isn't available, ensuring continuous collaboration across all parts of India through the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). This strategic expansion underlines Zoom's commitment to supporting India's digital transformation and facilitating communication in one of the world's fastest-growing economies.

The inclusion of AI Companion features, like post-call summaries and voicemail task extraction, is available at no additional cost for eligible accounts. This rollout positions Zoom to effectively penetrate the thriving business and technology ecosystems in India’s primary business hubs.

Zoom plans to further expand its service across additional telecom circles in India, reinforcing its mission to provide a unified communications platform tailored to enhance employee productivity and business flexibility.
