Home Telecom has significantly broadened its broadband offerings by extending the Calix SmartTown® service to various outdoor venues, such as festivals, farmers markets, and sports fields, across South Carolina's Tri-County Area, including Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties. The service, built on the Calix Broadband Platform, aims to deliver seamless and secure Wi-Fi connectivity to residents and visitors alike.

This expansion means that high-quality, secure Wi-Fi will now cover 84% of Home Telecom's fiber subscribers, without any additional charges. The recent deployment marks a significant uptick in usage, with SmartTown adoption increasing over 21-fold in just seven months, underscoring the growing reliance on seamless connectivity in communal spaces.

Home Telecom's strategic partnership with Calix, Inc. (CALX, Financial) has allowed the company to enhance subscriber experiences through tailored residential plans, which include access to SmartTown Wi-Fi for on-the-go connectivity. This initiative forms part of a broader effort by Home Telecom to build stronger community ties and fortify its market presence.
