Nvidia (NVDA, Financial) CEO Jensen Huang recently announced significant advancements in Europe's AI infrastructure. Over the next two years, Europe's AI computational power is expected to grow tenfold, with more than 20 AI factories in development. At the VivaTech conference in Paris, Huang highlighted Europe's recognition of these AI factories' importance, with several data centers expanding to over 1 gigawatt, potentially becoming some of the largest globally.
Huang addressed concerns over AI and GPU shortages, noting that solutions are forthcoming. Nvidia plans to strengthen its collaboration with companies like Schneider Electric to develop hyperscale data centers. Additionally, Nvidia is partnering with French startup Mistral AI to create a cloud platform powered by 18,000 of Nvidia's advanced Blackwell chips. Mistral AI CEO Arthur Mensch emphasized the strategic autonomy this multi-billion Euro project will offer European businesses, enhancing Europe's technological leadership.
Furthermore, Nvidia is working with major companies like BNP Paribas and L'Oréal to facilitate the development of their AI models. Nvidia's chips will be supplied to data centers across Spain, Italy, the UK, Finland, Germany, and Sweden. Huang expressed enthusiasm about Europe's commitment to integrating AI as a critical part of its infrastructure.
