K Wave Media (KWM, Financial) has revealed its lineup of film and drama projects for the latter half of 2025, aligning with its strategic approach that combines media production with financial innovation. Since its Nasdaq debut on May 14, KWM has expanded its production efforts across various content areas. This summer, the company plans to launch a mix of productions targeting audiences worldwide through platforms like Netflix and prominent broadcasters.
Highlighted releases include "Soju Wars," which premiered in late May, and "If We Were," featuring well-known actors Koo Kyo-hwan and Moon Ga-young. Another notable project is "Trigger," a high-budget crime drama set to debut on Netflix in July 2025. Additionally, "Aema," a film reflecting the 1980s Chungmuro film industry, will also be available on Netflix later this year. Other productions, such as "Mary Kills People" on MBC and "The Mediator Project" on tvN, are set to engage audiences.
Following its IPO, KWM initiated a $500 million Standby Equity Purchase Agreement to support its Bitcoin Strategic Reserve Plan. This initiative helps mitigate inflation risks and provides flexibility for content development. Moreover, KWM plans to incorporate Bitcoin and other digital currencies as payment options across its platforms, heralding innovative monetization approaches in the entertainment sector.
