Rockwell Automation, Inc. (ROK) has announced the global launch of OptixEdge, an advanced edge gateway solution designed to revolutionize industrial data processing. According to Rockwell's State of Smart Manufacturing Report, only 44% of data from smart machines is currently used effectively. OptixEdge addresses this challenge by enabling real-time data processing at the machine level, avoiding the need to send data to distant cloud servers.

OptixEdge integrates seamlessly with Rockwell's FactoryTalk® Optix™ software, providing a streamlined data processing workflow from machine to cloud. The solution includes a Built-in Wizard App that simplifies the data collection process, allowing easy configuration through a web browser, thus significantly reducing engineering time. Additionally, OptixEdge supports lightweight applications and provides secure remote access via FactoryTalk® Remote Access™, facilitating remote programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.

This solution is compatible with both existing Rockwell hardware and third-party systems, offering flexibility to users in diverse industrial settings. By processing data at its source, OptixEdge empowers users to obtain faster insights, reduce costs, and make smarter decisions, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency. As part of its deployment strategy, Rockwell ensures that this innovative solution caters to the growing need for efficient data management in the industrial IoT landscape.
