DigitalOcean Holdings, Inc. (DOCN), a leader in scalable cloud solutions, has announced a groundbreaking collaboration with AMD to advance AI capabilities using cloud-based GPUs. This partnership brings AMD Instinct™ GPUs to DigitalOcean's platform, starting with the AMD MI300X GPUs, designed to power AI workloads efficiently. Later this year, DigitalOcean plans to expand its offerings with AMD Instinct™ MI325X GPUs, known for setting new standards in AI performance and efficiency.

With AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs already demonstrating leadership in high-performance computing (HPC) and the emerging generative AI demands, DigitalOcean aims to provide its customers with incredible performance and efficiency enhancements. The collaboration leverages the AMD ROCm™ software platform facilitating faster development of HPC and AI production-ready systems, significantly benefiting enterprises looking to integrate AI at scale without the need for complex hardware setups.

The availability of these GPUs as bare-metal configurations and as GPU Droplets enhances DigitalOcean's service offerings, allowing customers to choose between single and eight GPU configurations, optimizing costs for specific use cases. The competitive pricing of $1.99 per GPU per hour, combined with a simple setup and enterprise-grade service level agreements, positions DigitalOcean as a leader amongst cloud providers.

Furthermore, the AMD Developer Cloud, powered by DigitalOcean, offers a fully managed environment promoting rapid, high-performance AI development. This new platform allows customers to leverage AMD Instinct MI300X GPUs for various AI tasks such as fine-tuning large language models (LLMs) and building scalable inference stacks without any hardware investment.

Bratin Saha, Chief Product & Technology Officer at DigitalOcean, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, "DigitalOcean’s collaboration with AMD is another proof point to make AI easily accessible to our customers." Meanwhile, Negin Oliver, corporate vice president of AMD, highlighted their commitment to providing innovative technologies to meet the evolving needs of tech businesses.
