Walmart and Amazon are evaluating the possibility of issuing their own stablecoins in the United States or adopting third-party stablecoins. This move aims to reduce payment processing fees and improve settlement efficiency. The initiative is expected to advance following the establishment of a clear regulatory framework under the upcoming Genius Act stablecoin legislation. Additionally, both companies are considering joining a merchant-led stablecoin alliance.
