Honeywell International Inc. (HON) has been awarded a significant contract by Bell Textron to deliver advanced systems for the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA). The contract underscores Honeywell's growing footprint in military aviation and aligns with its strategic focus on the future of aviation, one of the company's key megatrends.

The contract involves the supply of a modified version of Honeywell's reliable GTCP 36-150 auxiliary power unit (APU) and the innovative Honeywell Attuneā„¢ thermal management system. The 36-150 APU, boasting over 10,000 deliveries across 20 applications, is already in use in the Army's UH-60 Black Hawk and AH-64 Apache helicopters, highlighting its proven track record in military settings.

Honeywell's Attuneā„¢ system delivers substantial performance advantages, being up to 35% lighter and 20% more efficient than conventional systems. In addition, this system leverages the environmentally-friendly Solstice zd refrigerant, aligning with the defense sector's increasing sustainability requirements.

These technologies are designed to bolster the Army's aviation capabilities until 2050 and beyond, offering secondary power sources and advanced cooling functions essential for the FLRAA's operational needs. This strategic contract positions Honeywell favorably for future military engagements that prioritize environmental considerations.
