Alibaba (BABA) Tests New Social E-Commerce Platform "Yi Qi Tao"

Alibaba (BABA, Financial) saw its stock rise by about 2%, reaching $115.06. The company is reportedly testing a new social e-commerce project called "Yi Qi Tao." This initiative includes a dedicated app available on select app stores. The project aims to serve as a special sales platform within WeChat's private domain ecosystem. By facilitating special sales of Taobao products through the WeChat interface, "Yi Qi Tao" aids merchants in effectively coordinating public and private domain marketing on Taobao.
