  • Globalstar (GSAT, Financial) expands collaboration with Technosylva to enhance global wildfire response.
  • INFOCA, Andalusia’s fire authority, continues deployment of SPOT satellite devices aiding emergency operations.
  • SPOT devices provide precise GPS tracking and emergency signaling for firefighters in remote areas.

Globalstar (GSAT), a leading telecommunications infrastructure provider, is furthering its global partnership with Technosylva to support firefighting efforts worldwide. This collaboration focuses on deploying Technosylva's advanced fire behavior modeling and incident management platforms, now further integrated with Globalstar’s SPOT satellite devices for enhanced field operations.

The most recent development in this partnership sees the continued implementation of these technologies with INFOCA, one of Europe's largest emergency response organizations in Andalusia. Through the utilization of Technosylva's Wildfire Analyst™ and fiResponse™ platforms, combined with Globalstar's SPOT devices, firefighters achieve real-time situational awareness and enhanced coordination, even in areas lacking GSM coverage.

SPOT devices, integral to fiResponse, enable precise GPS tracking and emergency signaling. These features have been proven effective in live deployments across regions including Spain, the U.S., and Latin America. Notably, INFOCA accelerated its deployment of SPOT devices in 2020, expanding to 550 devices by 2022, while Castilla La Mancha has been a user since 2015.

Joaquin Ramirez, Founder & CTO of Technosylva, emphasized the growing threat of wildfires, stating, “Integrated, intelligent solutions are necessary to improve firefighter safety and decision-making.” Mark O’Connell, General Manager for EMEA and APAC at Globalstar, echoed this sentiment, underscoring their commitment to equipping fire agencies with critical satellite technology.

Technosylva's international reach includes major firefighting agencies in the U.S., where predictive analysis is used to model fire spread and allocate resources effectively. Interested parties can learn more about enhancing safety in firefighting operations by registering for their upcoming webinar on June 30.
