- Scorpio Gold Corporation (SRCRF, Financial) initiates Phase One drilling at Manhattan District, Nevada.
- Initial resource estimate expected in Q3 2025, with expansion plans into 2026.
- Notable previous drilling results include 1.69 g/t Au over 55.6m at Zanzibar Trend.
Scorpio Gold Corporation (SRCRF) has launched a Phase One diamond drilling program at its fully owned Manhattan District in Nevada. The effort includes 3,400 meters of drilling across 12 holes, with four holes totaling 1,389 meters completed since April 29, 2025. The drilling aims to focus on three primary target areas: the Gap Zone, the Zanzibar Trend, and Mustang Hill's historic underground mines.
The program builds upon significant historical data, with previous drilling showcasing promising results such as 1.69 grams per ton (g/t) of gold (Au) over 55.6 meters at the Zanzibar Trend, and 3.89 g/t Au over 41.2 meters at Mustang Hill. Scorpio Gold has also digitized extensive historical data from the 1950s, encompassing approximately 140,000 meters from 1,568 earlier drilling holes, which possess an estimated current cost value of US$50 million.
The Manhattan property is strategically located approximately 15 kilometers south of Kinross' Round Mountain gold mine, enhancing its potential as a multi-million-ounce gold asset. Scorpio Gold plans to release an initial resource estimate in Q3 2025, with further expansion planned for Q4 and extending into 2026.
