Amazon has successfully launched the second batch of its Kuiper internet satellites into low Earth orbit, marking a significant step in its plan to build a large satellite constellation. This development intensifies its competition with SpaceX's Starlink. The launch was carried out by the United Launch Alliance (ULA) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, deploying 27 Kuiper satellites.
Ben Chilton, an engineer at ULA, highlighted the importance of the mission, stating that the ignition of the Atlas V rocket carrying Amazon's Kuiper satellites opens a new chapter in low Earth orbit satellite connectivity. The mission had faced delays due to adverse weather conditions and issues with the rocket booster.
