Netomnia, the UK's second-largest alternative network operator, has chosen VIAVI Solutions' (VIAV, Financial) ONMSi Remote Fiber Test System (RFTS) to accelerate and optimize their network expansion across the UK. The implementation of this technology aims to simplify network installation and maintenance as Netomnia aggressively expands its services.
Currently, Netomnia, alongside partners YouFibre and brsk, services 2.5 million premises, with 325,000 already connected. The group targets expanding this reach to three million premises by the end of 2025 and five million premises by 2027, maintaining an annual build rate of one million premises. The ONMSi system will be central to supporting these expansion plans by enabling efficient network certification and monitoring across over 150 exchanges.
The technical advantages of VIAVI's system are noteworthy. With the deployment of ONMSi, Netomnia will leverage a mobile app that facilitates remote test-on-demand capabilities, enhancing field technician efficiency and ensuring the end-to-end network assurance through reflector-less monitoring. This feature extends visibility to customer premises equipment, crucial for maintaining network integrity during rapid expansion.
This partnership significantly reinforces VIAVI’s position as a market leader in fiber network testing solutions, with the ONMSi system offering predictable revenue streams through software licenses and service fees as Netomnia's network grows.
