  • Ceva (CEVA, Financial) introduces MotionEngine Hex, a motion control software enabling intuitive touch-free interaction for Smart TVs and gaming through 6-DOF tracking.
  • The software combines ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning with inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensing for precise spatial control.
  • MotionEngine technology, already in over 150 million devices, continues to expand its market reach with this cutting-edge development.

Ceva, Inc. (CEVA), a leader in silicon and software IP, has unveiled MotionEngine™ Hex, a state-of-the-art motion control software designed to enhance user interaction with Smart TVs, gaming platforms, and IoT devices. This groundbreaking solution combines ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning with inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors to deliver precise 6-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) tracking.

The newly launched MotionEngine Hex software offers touchscreen-like pointing accuracy and spatial gestures without the need for physical contact. Key features include absolute cursor positioning, dual architecture support, sensor calibration, and efficient power consumption. These features make it particularly suitable for smart TV interfaces, gaming, and IoT control.

Built on Ceva’s well-established MotionEngine platform, which has been successfully deployed in over 150 million devices over the last 15 years, MotionEngine Hex provides a differentiated offering for manufacturers in increasingly competitive markets like smart TVs and gaming systems. The dual architecture support allows for flexible implementation, either as a host-based solution or embedded directly into Bluetooth SoCs, catering to a wide range of device configurations.

Chad Lucien, Vice President and General Manager of Ceva’s sensor and audio business unit, emphasized that MotionEngine Hex is designed to feel seamlessly integrated with its user, enhancing natural, intuitive control experiences. This next-gen software is available now and will be demonstrated at the Sensors Converge Conference, occurring June 25-26, 2025, in Santa Clara, CA.
