Energous Corporation, trading as Energous Wireless Power Solutions (WATT), has announced the release of its e-Sense tag, a groundbreaking battery-free, wireless sensor. Designed for use in retail, supply chain, and logistics, the tag is part of an integrated ambient IoT platform that includes wirelessly-powered sensors, RF-based energy transmitters, and cloud-based monitoring software.

The new e-Sense tag is engineered to fit seamlessly into high-volume environments with its compact 4x5 cm waterproof form. By harvesting energy from Energous’ wireless power network, it continuously reports location and temperature data to the company’s e-Compass cloud platform, which is built on AWS IoT Core. This setup enables real-time monitoring and historical data analysis across large supply chains, while avoiding the environmental impact and maintenance requirements of battery-powered sensors.

Energous' e-Sense tag is exclusively compatible with the company's PowerBridge® transmitters, ensuring efficient and continuous power supply. CEO and CFO Mallorie Burak emphasized that this development bolsters Energous’ position as a provider of wirelessly powered sensing solutions, offering significant cost savings and environmental benefits. The platform provides enterprise-level compliance and optimization tools, reinforcing Energous' commitment to transforming supply chain visibility.

This addition to Energous’ portfolio enables enterprises to deploy cost-effective, smaller, and sustainable IoT solutions, providing a vision for a connected, battery-less world. As businesses seek to enhance traceability and automation across their operations, wireless power technologies like the e-Sense tag are becoming integral to modern infrastructure.
