- HaiLa Technologies and Energous Corporation showcase ambient RF energy-powered IoT solutions.
- HaiLa's ultra-low power Wi-Fi solution pairs with Energous' wireless power networks for battery-free devices.
- Participation in Sensors Converge event highlights the new generation of intelligent IoT devices.
HaiLa Technologies has announced the public showcase of its ultra-low power communications solution for Wi-Fi, leveraging RF energy harvesting. This innovative approach is made possible through a collaboration with Energous Corporation (WATT, Financial), which provides over-the-air wireless power networks. The partnership aims to deliver ambient powered solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
The HaiLa development board features the BSC2000 Passive Backscatter chip combined with Energous' PowerBridge transmitter system. This combination enables continuous data provision to networks and cloud platforms, making IoT devices maintenance-free by eliminating the need for batteries in some applications.
Patricia Bower, VP of Product Management at HaiLa, highlighted the cost-saving potential of ambient IoT, stating that it reduces operational expenses by eliminating battery maintenance. Giampaolo Marino, SVP of Strategy and Business Development at Energous, emphasized the transformative potential of this collaboration in driving the future of battery-free, energy-autonomous IoT devices.
Both HaiLa and Energous will demonstrate these advancements at the Sensors Converge event from June 24 to 26, 2025, in Santa Clara, California. This collaboration marks a significant step towards optimizing energy consumption in connected devices by utilizing ambient RF energy.
