Takanock, a pioneering provider of digital and power infrastructure solutions, has announced a substantial $500 million investment commitment from ArcLight and DigitalBridge (DBRG), aimed at accelerating its data center power infrastructure solutions. This capital infusion is strategically designed to address the acute power shortages that limit data center development in key markets.

Founded in 2023 by Kenneth Davies, the former Google Energy founder, Takanock focuses on providing flexible on-site power solutions. These solutions serve as primary power sources until the completion of substations, after which they transition to act as wholesale grid resources. This approach significantly enhances the deployment speed of new data centers while bolstering grid resilience.

The investment arrives as Takanock executes power deployment projects in Northern Virginia and Phoenix, both of which are critical tier 1 data center markets facing significant power constraints. By offering a dual-purpose power generation model, Takanock not only accelerates data center timelines but also strengthens grid capabilities for integrating renewable energy sources.

Takanock's solution is further distinguished by its use of state-of-the-art emission control technologies and closed-loop cooling systems, minimizing environmental impact and reducing water resource demands. This innovative approach to power management positions Takanock at the forefront of the data center infrastructure sector, where demand for reliable and sustainable power solutions continues to grow rapidly.
