Apple (AAPL, Financial) is preparing to make further adjustments to its App Store in response to pressure from EU antitrust regulators. Sources indicate that Apple plans to propose changes by June 26, aiming to make it easier for third-party developers to guide users away from Apple's ecosystem for software purchases.

This decision follows weeks of intense discussions with EU regulators. By making these changes, Apple hopes to avoid penalties for not complying with the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA). If Apple fails to submit the proposed changes by the established deadline, the European Commission will prepare a formal statement of objections.

In April, both Apple and Meta were found to be in violation of the DMA, with Apple reacting strongly to the penalties by accusing regulators of discrimination and forcing it to abandon its technology.
