In its recently released 2024 Do More Good Report, International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) detailed substantial progress in sustainability and innovation. The company’s initiatives helped customers and consumers avoid a total of 27.3 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e) emissions in 2024, marking a significant contribution to environmental preservation.

The report emphasizes IFF's commitment to sustainability through its four core pillars: Conscious Sourcing, Intentional Innovation, Partnerships of Impact, and Operating for the Future. Notably, 79% of IFF’s new products launched in 2023-24 featured a sustainability value proposition, aligning with the company’s 2030 objective to ensure all innovations benefit people and the planet.

IFF's advancements include innovative technologies like the Designed Enzymatic Biomaterials™ (DEB), which aims to replace petrochemical-based products with sustainable alternatives in various markets. Additionally, the company enhanced supply chain sustainability by attaining ECOCERT's For Life certification for 75 natural ingredients, thus supporting conservation efforts and improving farmer livelihoods.

Operational achievements were highlighted with a 40% improvement in safety performance since 2021, and a 5% reduction in the total recordable incident rate from the previous year. Furthermore, the completion of business ethics training by 100% of employees underlines the company’s dedication to operational excellence.

IFF's sustainability leadership is acknowledged by several global benchmarks, including the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, EcoVadis Platinum rating, and listings in USATODAY’s America’s Climate Leaders 2025.
