  • DuPont (DD, Financial) launches the FilmTec™ Hypershell™ XP RO-8038 element for enhanced dairy processing.
  • New technology offers up to 50% higher productivity and flow or 50% reduced energy consumption.
  • Features include extended membrane life and reduced operational costs.

DuPont (DD) has introduced the FilmTec™ Hypershell™ XP RO-8038, an advanced reverse osmosis element crafted to meet the burgeoning demands of the dairy processing sector. This innovative solution is specifically designed for the concentration and polishing of dairy process streams, including milk, whey, and lactose.

The new technology promises up to 50% higher productivity and flow or alternatively up to 50% less energy demand, setting a new benchmark for efficiency in the use of dairy membrane elements. This effectively translates to significant operational cost savings due to lower energy consumption, reduced chemical usage, and extended membrane life.

DuPont’s FilmTec™ Hypershell™ XP RO-8038 delivers an expanded active membrane area, resulting in enhanced product quality and higher recovery rates, while also minimizing wastewater generation. The element's durability and reduced replacement frequency further consolidate its cost-effectiveness in the long term, optimizing both CAPEX and OPEX through increased efficiency.

According to Noel Carr, Global Dairy Market Leader for DuPont Water Solutions, the innovative membrane chemistry empowers dairy processors to achieve higher yields at lower operational costs, while also supporting sustainability in production processes. This aligns with industry trends towards reducing carbon footprints, contributing to more sustainable operations.

As part of its launch strategy, DuPont will hold an educational webinar on July 10, 2025, to discuss the capabilities of the new FilmTec™ Hypershell™ XP RO-8038 element. This event aims to provide deeper insights into how this technology can optimize dairy processing operations.
