CVS Health (CVS) has announced the inauguration of its new Workforce Innovation and Talent Center (WITC) at the Chicago Baptist Institute. This center is designed to provide comprehensive workforce training services and job opportunities in various roles including pharmacy technicians, customer service associates, call center associates, and retail associates.
The WITC includes a simulated retail store to offer participants hands-on experience, ensuring they gain practical skills needed for success in real-world scenarios. Graduates of this program are guaranteed the opportunity to apply for positions within CVS Health, offering a direct path to employment.
This initiative is a part of CVS Health's broader effort to support the community of Chicago. The company has previously invested $750,000 towards maternal and behavioral health grants and has organized 33 Project Health events, assisting over 1,300 participants with important health screenings.
Furthermore, CVS Health has committed over $65 million to affordable housing across Illinois, which has resulted in the creation or preservation of nearly 3,600 affordable housing units, contributing significantly to the local community's welfare. These efforts demonstrate CVS Health's commitment to building a sustainable model for workforce development and community support.
