In a strategic move expected to enhance customer value and engagement, Charter Communications (NASDAQ: CHTR) and The Walt Disney Company have announced an expanded distribution agreement. This partnership will integrate Hulu (With Ads) into all Spectrum TV Select packages from summer 2025 at no extra cost to customers. This addition complements existing access to Disney+ and the forthcoming ESPN streaming service, collectively providing over $100 in monthly streaming value.

The agreement also marks the return of eight Disney-owned networks to Spectrum's channel lineup. These include popular channels such as Disney Jr, Disney XD, and Freeform, further enriching the content offerings available to Spectrum customers. This expanded contract is financially beneficial for both Charter and Disney, with Charter already witnessing improved subscriber retention.

This deal reflects a broader industry trend towards hybrid distribution models that leverage both traditional cable and digital streaming platforms. Besides benefitting Spectrum TV Select customers, Charter will also offer Disney streaming services to broadband-only customers at retail prices. This move aims to maximize advertising reach and audience engagement across multiple platforms, showcasing how legacy media companies are adapting to the evolving viewing landscape.
