Microsoft Appoints New General Manager for Hong Kong and Macau

Microsoft (MSFT, Financial) has appointed Lau Bin Sing as the new General Manager for its Hong Kong and Macau region, effective immediately. He succeeds Chan Shanshan, who held the position for eight years. Lau will be responsible for leading Microsoft's overall strategy and business operations in these regions, focusing on business expansion and assisting customers and partners in digital transformation efforts. He will report directly to Hou Yang, Chairman and CEO of Microsoft Greater China.

Lau expressed his excitement about driving innovation with his team and collaborating with customers and partners to unlock the potential of AI during this transformative era. Before joining Microsoft, Lau served as Vice President of International Business at Alibaba Cloud and was the General Manager for North Asia and Southeast Asia. He also held positions as a director at various Alibaba Cloud subsidiaries. Prior to Alibaba, Lau worked at Huawei's headquarters and in Europe, where he was the Director of the Cloud Computing and Data Center Division.
