- SiTime Corporation (SITM, Financial) unveils TimeFabric software suite for AI data centers and networking.
- TimeFabric offers up to 9X improved time synchronization accuracy over quartz solutions.
- Supports enhanced functionality in AI, 5G infrastructure, and network resilience.
SiTime Corporation (SITM), a leader in precision timing solutions, has launched the TimeFabric™ software suite to deliver superior time synchronization in AI data centers, networking, and communication systems. This suite, when integrated with SiTime’s oscillators and clocks, provides up to nine times more accurate synchronization than traditional quartz-based solutions, drastically enhancing system performance and efficiency in challenging environments.
The TimeFabric suite is composed of two main modules. The first is an IEEE 1588 standards-compliant synchronization module, which offers sub-nanosecond synchronization accuracy, crucial for optimizing network traffic scheduling and load balancing. The second module is the proprietary holdover extension software, which ensures up to 24 hours of operation during GNSS outages or network clock failures, a vital feature for maintaining mobile and network infrastructure reliability.
This innovative software is applicable not only in AI data centers but also across diverse sectors such as 5G infrastructure, including remote radio units, base stations, and fixed wireless access equipment. TimeFabric’s capabilities position SiTime as a pivotal partner in advancing precision timing technologies, offering longer holdover capabilities and enhanced network synchronizer support that meet the latest IEEE 1588-2019 standards.
With more than 3.5 billion devices shipped, SiTime continues to lead the timing industry, offering solutions that empower clients to innovate with smaller, more reliable, and energy-efficient designs. For more details on SiTime's offerings, visit their official website.
