Jacobs (J) has been appointed as the Knowledge Partner by the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC) for an ambitious industrial development project in India. Under this three-year contract, Jacobs will provide comprehensive program management services for the development of 12 industrial corridors spread across 10 states.
The project will focus on the construction of greenfield industrial smart cities, integrating sustainable design principles and ICT-enabled utilities. The initiative aims to attract approximately $18 billion in investments and generate a substantial 1 million direct jobs, along with up to 3 million indirect jobs.
As the program manager, Jacobs will oversee various aspects including planning, design review, budgeting, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination. This partnership builds on Jacobs' established presence and past successes in India, such as their work on the Aurangabad Industrial City and Smart City Masterplans.
