Alibaba Expands Data Centers in Southeast Asia to Boost AI Growth

Alibaba Group is expanding its data center operations in Malaysia and the Philippines to drive AI-powered growth. Alibaba Cloud has launched its third data center in Malaysia and plans to open a second one in the Philippines in October. Additionally, the company is setting up an International Competence Center in Singapore to accelerate AI adoption across industries. This initiative aims to assist over 5,000 enterprises and 100,000 developers in accessing advanced AI models.

Known for its e-commerce business, Alibaba is intensifying its focus on artificial intelligence, developing standalone products around its Tongyi Qianwen AI model and expanding its cloud services. The company also announced infrastructure investments in Thailand, Mexico, and South Korea.
