Samyang Foods, a South Korean instant noodle manufacturer, has announced the construction of its first overseas production facility in China. This move aims to meet the growing demand for its popular "Buldak" instant noodles. The new factory, located in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, will involve an investment of 201.4 billion Korean won (approximately $148 million) and is expected to produce 840 million servings annually.
Scheduled for completion in January 2027, the factory will primarily serve the local Chinese market. Once operational, Samyang Foods' total annual production capacity for "Buldak" noodles will increase to 3.5 billion servings. Currently, Samyang Foods operates three factories in South Korea and has business operations in China, Japan, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and the United States.
