The U.S. economy added 147,000 non-farm jobs in June, exceeding expectations and bolstering market optimism. Ahead of the U.S. Independence Day holiday, the stock market closed early, yet saw strong performances across major indices. The S&P 500 rose by 51 points (0.8%) to 6,279, while the Nasdaq increased by 207 points (1%) to 20,601, both setting new record highs. The Dow Jones gained 344 points (0.8%) to close at 44,828.

The U.S. lifted export restrictions on chip design software to China, leading to a 5% surge in shares of Synopsys (SNPS, Financial) and Cadence Design Systems (CDNS). Large tech stocks generally performed well; Nvidia (NVDA) climbed 1.3% to a historic high of $159.34. Meanwhile, Meta (META) and Apple (AAPL) both rose slightly by less than 1%. Tesla (TSLA) saw a minor decline of 0.1%.
