- Battery X Metals (BATXF, Financial) reports a 637.5% improvement in electric truck battery range.
- Prototype 2.0 technology achieves 100% recovery of imbalance-related losses in trials.
- Potential market for battery life extension as 40 million EVs will be out of warranty by 2031.
Battery X Metals (OTCQB: BATXF) has announced a major advancement in electric vehicle battery restoration by successfully extending the driving range of a degraded Class 3 electric truck from approximately 40 kilometers to 295 kilometers, marking a 255-kilometer increase, or a 637.5% improvement. This breakthrough was achieved using their patent-pending Prototype 2.0 rebalancing platform, which demonstrated a 100% recovery of imbalance-related capacity loss and a 37.7% increase in Rated Capacity in the 144-cell NMC battery pack.
The technology's efficacy was validated through three controlled real-world performance trials, conducted across various driving conditions, including highway and city environments. While these outcomes were achieved under no-load conditions, Battery X Metals notes that actual range may vary depending on payload, terrain, driving behavior, and other operational factors.
This innovation arrives at a pivotal time, as projections indicate that by 2031, about 40 million electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid vehicles worldwide will no longer be covered by warranty, presenting a significant commercial opportunity for battery life extension solutions. The company's success has already attracted interest from an Electric Truck Authorized Distributor dealing with fleet-wide battery degradation issues similar to those addressed in the trials.
