Riverside Resources (OTCQB: RVSDF) and Questcorp Mining have announced the commencement of their inaugural drill program at the Union Gold-Silver Project located in Sonora, Mexico. This initial phase will involve over 1,500 meters of diamond drilling, comprising approximately seven holes each ranging from 150-350 meters. The efforts will focus on three historically significant mining areas: Union, North Union, and Famosa zones.
Historically, these zones have produced an estimated 50,000 ounces gold equivalent, largely extracted from shallow, inclined shafts targeting gold-rich Carbonate Replacement Deposit (CRD) systems. Recent exploratory activities include Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical surveys and an airborne drone magnetic survey, aimed at refining drill targets and providing structural insights.
In related developments, Riverside has announced that it has regained full control over the Cecilia Project following the termination of the option agreement with Fortuna Mining. Fortuna has agreed to cover the project-related costs for six months, while Riverside advances its drill-ready targets or explores potential new partnerships.
Riverside's President & CEO, John-Mark Staude, expressed optimism about the Union Project's potential, revealing that this will be the first-ever drill program on the historically productive yet underexplored system at Union. The company is poised to increase its stake in Questcorp, potentially reaching up to 19.9% over time.
The company will be participating in the Rule Symposium 2025 in Boca Raton, Florida, from July 7-11, where stakeholders can engage further with Riverside's ongoing initiatives, including advancements in the Union Project.
