Tantalus Systems (TSX: GRID) (OTCQX: TGMPF) has announced an expansion of its partnership with EPB in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Under this agreement, EPB plans to deploy 20,000 TRUSense Ethernet Gateways (TEGs) over the next five years, starting in the summer of 2025. This deployment is set to enhance EPB’s fiber-to-the-home network by providing advanced power quality insights while enabling broadband services.

The deployment aims to modernize EPB’s distribution grid, with TRUSense Gateways integrating seamlessly to support enhanced operational efficiency. EPB also has the flexibility to purchase additional TEGs and will upgrade part of its existing metering infrastructure to Tantalus' newest technological standards.

Jim Glass, Assistant Vice President of Smart Grid Operations at EPB, highlighted the collaboration’s success, stating that the TRUSense Ethernet Gateway is ideal for future-ready utilities looking to maintain a cutting-edge, reliable power grid for their communities.

Peter Londa, President & CEO of Tantalus, emphasized the significance of the project, noting that it underscores Tantalus' ability to facilitate utility transformation through advanced technology and grid modernization. The TRUSense Gateways offer options for fiber, ethernet, or cellular connectivity, which accelerate grid modernization by providing extensive access to critical data, thereby improving resiliency and efficiency.
