Ruoming Pang, previously in charge of AI models at Apple (AAPL, Financial), is reportedly leaving the company to join Meta (META). Pang joined Apple from Alphabet (GOOGL) in 2021, where he led a team of about 100 people. His team was responsible for developing large language models that are foundational to Apple Intelligence and other AI functionalities on Apple devices.
Meta has successfully recruited Pang as part of its newly established "superintelligence" division. According to sources, Meta has offered Pang a lucrative compensation package worth several million dollars annually.
