Oracle (ORCL, Financial) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced the general availability of Oracle Database@AWS, enabling enterprises to run Oracle Exadata Database Service and Oracle Autonomous Database on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) within AWS data centers. The service is currently available in AWS U.S. East (N. Virginia) and U.S. West (Oregon) Regions, with planned expansion to 20 additional AWS Regions globally.

This offering incorporates zero-ETL integration, simplifying data integration between Oracle and AWS analytic services, and eliminates the need to construct complex data pipelines. This allows for seamless data flow between Oracle Database and AWS services, enabling enterprises to utilize Oracle's database reliability alongside AWS's advanced analytics and generative AI services.

Enterprises such as Fidelity Investments, Nationwide, and SAS are among the early adopters, leveraging Oracle Database@AWS to enhance their digital transformation initiatives. The integration features support for Oracle Database 23ai with AI Vector capabilities, offering enhanced application intelligence and simplified database administration.

Customers can migrate Oracle workloads to Oracle Database@AWS without rearchitecting applications, benefiting from AWS's global infrastructure's security, resilience, and scalability. The solution is also integrated with key AWS services such as AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), CloudFormation, CloudWatch, and VPC Lattice, and provides a simplified procurement experience via the AWS Marketplace.
