Redwire Corporation (RDW), a prominent player in aerospace and defense technology, has announced a significant international collaboration with Japanese startup SpaceData Inc. The partnership, formalized through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), marks Redwire’s expansion into the Japanese technology market.

The collaboration is set to explore the integration of SpaceData's digital solutions into Redwire’s digital ecosystem to support various space missions, including operations on the International Space Station (ISS). Both companies will seek opportunities to advance NASA's Commercial Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Destination utilization and explore future missions to the Moon and deep space.

Redwire plans to leverage SpaceData's advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics capabilities, enhancing their digital engineering tools for efficient space infrastructure development. SpaceData’s digital twin technologies, such as the ISS Simulator and Lunar Digital Twin, will play a pivotal role in these efforts by enabling accurate simulation and testing of mission-critical components.

Both entities are driven by the shared vision of making space an open and accessible infrastructure. Shawn Buckley, Senior Vice President of Civil and International Space at Redwire, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration’s potential to develop next-generation platforms for space exploration, while SpaceData aims to contribute to a sustainable space-based society.
