Corero Network Security (OTCQX: DDOSF), a leader in DDoS protection, has announced that its SmartWall ONEâ„¢ solution's orchestration plane is now deployable in Akamai Compute, the edge-native cloud computing platform by Akamai Technologies. This cloud-native deployment allows for a significantly faster implementation of DDoS protection, cutting deployment time from weeks to mere hours by removing the need for on-premises infrastructure.

The integration offers numerous key benefits, including elastic resource allocation, built-in high availability, and geographic redundancy, which ensures operational continuity. This move not only accelerates time to protection but also enhances flexibility in managing DDoS protection infrastructure.

The development significantly strengthens Corero's strategic relationship with Akamai, building upon existing collaborations such as the Akamai Prolexic On-Prem DDoS Protection. By enabling orchestration in Akamai Compute, both companies streamline their go-to-market strategies, broadening client access and supporting enterprise cloud strategies.

This architecture supports multi-tenant management with robust control plane separation, paving the way for future managed service models and expanded customer access. Carl Herberger, CEO at Corero Network Security, emphasized the advancement in speed, scale, and simplicity that this deployment represents, allowing for global real-time protection without any loss in performance.

The move reflects Corero's broader strategic shift towards cloud-native enablement and positions the company to better meet the evolving needs of their clients in the cloud computing landscape.
