ADS-TEC Energy (ADSE) and Mannheim-based energy company MVV have announced a collaboration to deploy more than 30 battery-buffered fast-charging stations at retail group Müller locations throughout Germany. This initiative aims to enhance the convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging while shopping, meeting the growing demand for sustainable infrastructure.
The project will see the installation of ADS-TEC Energy's ChargePost and ChargeBox systems, renowned for offering ultra-fast charging capabilities with up to 320 kW power, which ensures quick and efficient EV charging even with limited grid capacity. These systems support compliance with the German Act on Electric Mobility Infrastructure in Buildings (GEIG), providing a future-proof solution for the retail group Müller's branches.
MVV will handle the complete financing, construction, and operation of the charging infrastructure. The company has been expanding the EV charging network in the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region and currently operates over 156 locations with more than 440 charging points. This partnership with ADS-TEC Energy and Müller signifies a strategic move to integrate EV charging capabilities directly at retail locations, enhancing customer convenience and contributing to environmental sustainability.
For the first time, ADS-TEC Energy will manage the marketing of digital advertising spaces on their ChargePost systems. These charging units are equipped with high-resolution 75-inch screens, leveraging the busy retail environment for targeted advertising opportunities, thereby adding economic value to the project beyond just EV charging.
