SEGG Media (NASDAQ: SEGG), a global leader in sports, entertainment, and gaming, has announced the participation of its Lottery.com and Sports.com-sponsored drivers in the upcoming doubleheader race weekend at Iowa Speedway. The event, taking place at the renowned 0.875-mile tri-oval, will feature high-stakes races with both the NTT INDYCAR Series and INDY NXT by Firestone. This event marks INDYCAR's only doubleheader of the season and is expected to test the physical and mental resilience of the drivers.
British driver Callum Ilott, representing PREMA Racing, returns to Iowa after a solid P11 finish in his previous outing at the track. Alongside his teammate Robert Shwartzman, both drivers are looking to capitalize on the momentum they built during a successful test session held at the track in June. CEO of PREMA Racing INDYCAR, Piers Phillips, expressed optimism, stating, “Iowa Speedway offers a unique challenge, and our preparations have been thorough. We are entering the weekend with a positive mindset and valuable data from our recent tests.”
Meanwhile, in INDY NXT, Seb Murray of Andretti Cape is set to make his second-ever oval start after a commendable 12th-place finish in his debut at WWTR earlier this year. With Andretti Global celebrating recent successes, including its 300th win at Mid-Ohio, the team carries a strong record of 10 victories and 26 podiums at Iowa. Marc Bircham, Director of Sports.com, noted Murray's improvement, saying, “Seb has demonstrated remarkable growth and grit on ovals this year. With Andretti's track record at Iowa and Seb's determination, we anticipate another impressive performance.”
The race weekend schedule commences with free practice on Friday, July 11, followed by INDYCAR qualifying and the first race on Saturday, July 12, and the concluding race on Sunday, July 13. Fans can follow the action live on NBC/Peacock in the U.S., Sky Sports in the U.K., or through the IMS Radio Network, with real-time updates available at indycar.com/timing.
