Align Technology, Inc. (ALGN), a leader in medical device manufacturing, has announced the commercial availability of its new Invisalign® System with mandibular advancement featuring occlusal blocks in India. This system is designed to correct Class II skeletal and dental issues by advancing the mandible while simultaneously aligning teeth.
The Invisalign System with occlusal blocks is primarily intended for growing patients aged 10-16, leveraging their natural growth potential for effective correction of malocclusions. Class II malocclusion is prevalent globally, constituting approximately 30-45% of malocclusions worldwide.
This system marks a significant advancement in Align Technology’s (ALGN, Financial) orthodontic offerings by providing a single, efficient process for treating Class II malocclusions, minimizing the need for multiple appliances. The occlusal blocks ensure structural rigidity and enable earlier mandibular advancement in specific cases.
Made from SmartTrack™ material, the aligners offer increased patient comfort and compliance, which is critical for achieving successful outcomes. The system also allows for attachments on teeth beneath the blocks to facilitate more predictable tooth movement.
The Invisalign System with mandibular advancement is now available to Invisalign-trained doctors in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, and India, with plans for further expansion in the Asia-Pacific region later in 2025.
