Vietnam's government has announced that SpaceX is set to introduce its Starlink satellite internet service in the country starting later this year. According to a Vietnamese official, the Ministry of Science and Technology aims to approve the use of low-orbit satellite services as soon as SpaceX completes the necessary investment procedures and establishes a legal entity in Vietnam. The deployment of these services is targeted for the end of 2025.
SpaceX is currently collaborating with Vietnam's Ministry of Finance to finalize the process of setting up a wholly-owned subsidiary in the region. Earlier reports from April indicated that SpaceX is preparing to establish a ground station for Starlink satellites in Vietnam, with plans to construct additional stations.
In March, the Vietnamese government announced it would permit SpaceX to trial its services in the country without restrictions on foreign ownership. This trial period is expected to continue until the end of 2030.
