According to Tianfeng International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple (AAPL, Financial) plans to use Samsung Display screens, rather than its own, for the foldable iPhone set for mass production in the latter half of next year. This decision is expected to benefit Samsung Display's supplier, Fine M-Tec.
Fine M-Tec is expanding its production facilities in Vietnam to meet the demand. The company is anticipated to start shipping metal plates used in iPhone foldable screens in the first quarter of next year, with each unit priced between $30 and $35. The projected shipment volume for the next year ranges between 13 million and 15 million units.
