- Fathom Nickel (FNICF, Financial) begins summer field exploration program at Gochager Lake after wildfire delays.
- The program aims to investigate three major soil geochemical anomalies discovered in 2024.
- Completion expected within three weeks from the start on July 19, 2025.
Fathom Nickel Inc. (OTCQB: FNICF) has commenced its summer field exploration program at the Gochager Lake Project, following a delay caused by wildfires in the La Ronge region. This program involves extensive mapping, prospecting, and the collection of approximately 4,000 B-horizon soil samples. The company is particularly focused on three significant multi-element soil geochemical anomalies discovered in 2024.
The key targets include a 600m x 150m feature situated west of the Weaver Lake Camp, which has shown nickel concentrations ranging from 190ppm to 973ppm Ni, as well as a 500m combined strike area north-northwest of the camp. The most notable anomaly, however, is a 200m strike circular feature along Gochager Lake's northern shore, which has demonstrated nickel concentrations as high as 1,650ppm.
The program, anticipated to be completed within three weeks, will cover areas along the Interpreted Regional Shear — a potential host for clustered magmatic nickel sulphide deposits. Infrastructure developments at the site include the establishment of a 100m-spaced grid for future geophysical surveys and a 3.5 km trail from Weaver Lake Camp to Gochager Lake.
Ian Fraser, CEO and VP Exploration of Fathom Nickel, expressed optimism about the soil anomalies, highlighting the potential for discovering magmatic nickel sulphide deposits along this structural feature. Results from the exploration, including soil assays, will be reported as they become available.
