McCauley Propeller Systems, a division of Textron Aviation Inc., announced that its high-performance C780 propeller is now a standard feature for all new Beechcraft King Air 360 aircraft. Previously, the C780 was available as an optional factory installation, but now it comes standard, reflecting its enhanced design and performance advantages.
The C780 propeller, identified by its lightweight four-blade scimitar design and 105-inch diameter, provides significant benefits to King Air B300 operators. Among these advantages are a weight reduction of up to 50 pounds compared to prior options, decreased noise levels in both the cabin and cockpit, and an extended Time Between Overhaul (TBO) of 5,000 hours or 72 months. Additionally, Textron Aviation offers a 5,000-hour or 36-month limited propeller warranty.
This propeller received FAA certification in 2023 and later achieved certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in 2024. More recently, McCauley obtained certification from Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency, further broadening its global acceptance for the Beechcraft King Air turboprops, which have a significant presence in Brazil.
Current owners of the King Air B300 have the option to retrofit their aircraft with the C780 propeller at a Textron Aviation Service Center or an Authorized McCauley Service Facility, without requiring additional modifications.
Textron Inc. (TXT, Financial), McCauley's parent company, continues to innovate within the aerospace and defense sector, fostering growth with its diverse portfolio of products and technologies.
