AMETEK, Inc. (AME) has successfully completed the acquisition of FARO Technologies, Inc. (FARO), a leader in 3D measurement and imaging solutions. This strategic move positions AMETEK's Ultra Precision Technologies Division alongside Creaform and Virtek, creating a broad portfolio of 3D metrology, laser projection, and digital reality solutions.
The newly combined entity now offers a diverse range of products including portable measurement arms, 3D scanners, laser trackers, and integrated inspection software. AMETEK aims to leverage these combined capabilities to serve key industrial sectors like automotive manufacturing, aerospace, energy, architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), as well as public safety.
While each brand under AMETEK's umbrella will maintain its independence, they are expected to collaborate closely to improve product integration and expand service capabilities.
