JD.com (9618, Financial) has launched its new dining venture, "Qixian Kitchen," focusing on self-operated takeout services. The company is introducing a "Dish Partner" recruitment plan, allocating 1 billion RMB to find partners for 1,000 signature dishes. Additionally, JD.com will invest a further 10 billion RMB to establish a modern supply chain, aiming to open 10,000 Qixian Kitchen outlets nationwide over the next three years.
Partners are required only to provide dish recipes and collaborate on development, while Qixian Kitchen will handle preparation and strict quality control. Each partner is guaranteed a minimum of 1 million RMB per dish, with no cap on profit sharing from sales. The initiative is open to branded restaurants and individual chefs, with Fei Dachu, Jiahe Yipin, Ziyan Baiweiji, and Park Uncle Bibimbap already signing up as initial candidate partners.
The first Qixian Kitchen outlet, featuring a see-through kitchen and cooking equipment like stir-fry machines, is located in a building's first floor in Beijing's Dongcheng District. Customers can place orders online, opting for either delivery or self-pickup. The service has integrated into JD.com's delivery platform, with product prices ranging from 10 to 30 RMB, and 800 orders already fulfilled.
