Tesla CEO Elon Musk has expressed skepticism about the "Stargate" AI infrastructure project, a joint venture between OpenAI and SoftBank. Musk highlighted concerns over the project's lack of substantial financial backing. Reports indicate that the high-profile initiative, announced six months ago at the White House, has stalled. Despite initial promises of an immediate $100 billion investment, no major data center deals have been finalized.

Instead, the project has been scaled back, with plans to establish a smaller facility in Ohio by the end of the year. Disagreements between OpenAI and SoftBank regarding partnership structure and control have further slowed progress. A user on platform X shared Musk's comments from January, when the project was first announced, stating, "They actually don't have the money." Musk recently reiterated this sentiment, agreeing with the statement.
