Conduent Incorporated (CNDT), a leading provider of business solutions, has announced the expansion of its Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) solutions, aiming to prevent fraud and improve end-user experience across multiple U.S. states. The company has introduced a lock/unlock feature that enhances the security of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in 12 states.
The lock/unlock capability, part of Conduent's ConnectEBT mobile app, allows benefit recipients to control their EBT accounts by blocking unauthorized purchases, including those made outside their home state. This measure is expected to significantly curb unauthorized access and fraudulent activities.
Conduent's VeriSight Anti-Fraud Suite backs this feature, offering state agencies advanced tools to mitigate fraud in public benefit programs. The suite also employs an intelligent interactive voice response (IVR) system, which is capable of detecting suspicious call patterns, applying real-time restrictions, and delivering immediate alerts to users through the ConnectEBT app.
In addition to current functionalities, Conduent is working on integrating SNAP cards with EMV chip technology to further secure transactions at points of sale. Plans also include the implementation of mobile wallet capabilities, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, to modernize how beneficiaries access their support services.
The strategic advancements reflect Conduent's ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for improving public service delivery while ensuring that taxpayer funds are safeguarded from potential fraud.
