  • First Atlantic Nickel (TSXV: FAN, OTCQB: FANCF, FSE: P21) has commenced Phase 2 drilling at the RPM Zone in Newfoundland.
  • Phase 1 drilling defined a mineralized zone with awaruite nickel, producing an average magnetic concentrate grade of 1.41% nickel.
  • Awaruite nickel, a sulfur-free alloy, offers a cleaner, smelter-free processing route beneficial for North America’s critical mineral supply chain.

First Atlantic Nickel Corp. (TSXV: FAN) has launched its Initial Phase 2 Drill Plan at the RPM Zone of the Atlantic Nickel Project in Newfoundland, following the successful completion of Phase 1 drilling. The Phase 1 program established a large near-surface mineralized zone spanning 400 meters by 500 meters, featuring consistent awaruite nickel mineralization.

Phase 1 results revealed an average magnetically recoverable nickel (DTR Ni%) grade of 0.13%, with an average magnetic nickel concentrate grade of 1.41% and a mass pull of 9.1%. With mineralization open in all directions, Phase 2 aims to expand this promising discovery further.

The Atlantic Nickel Project hosts a significant belt of serpentinized ultramafic ophiolite containing disseminated awaruite nickel mineralization. This formation provides a strategic advantage for straightforward processing via magnetic separation and flotation, essential for reducing reliance on foreign nickel processing.

Awaruite's smelter-free processing aligns with U.S. regulatory demands for domestic critical mineral processing, offering a reliable supply chain for North America's growing electric vehicle industry. Phase 2 drilling will explore extensions of the RPM Zone's footprint, potentially expanding the resource north towards Pipestone Pond, east towards Chrome Pond, and west into the RPM fault zone.

With upgraded infrastructure and enhanced drilling capabilities, First Atlantic Nickel is positioned to achieve significant growth potential at the Atlantic Nickel Project, solidifying its role in supporting North America's critical mineral needs.
