Why Are Corporations Making the Shift towards E-Learning?

Huge numbers of corporations are making a shift toward e-learning. Why is that? Because the world of learning has changed forever. And why has this happened? Because of online education and learning management systems. With new technologies, like the learning management systems and increased users and internet access, people are making a massive and collective shift towards online education. The field of e-learning has grown exponentially and not just in terms of students who are taking online classes but in terms of educational online tools and interactive teaching methods that are being integrated into all grades and corporate training tools that keep companies up to date!

Companies have started to make the shift toward utilizing online education tools, too, training their employees about workplace health and safety on a learning management system which enables them to track progress, or using audio and video to teach employees about a new merger taking place. No longer do companies have to turn to a staff member to host a two-week training session for new employees or transfers. They can use e-learning and a learning management system to do it for them. These systems keep everything in one place, where it is easily accessible and transferred. This means that employees can access it when they first start working with a company, and when a new branch opens and more new employees are hired, the information can be accessed by those employees anywhere in the world. This ensures that all training takes place in a timely fashion. Corporations can rely on these tools to monitor the progress of all employees which ensures honesty and follow through. No employee can claim to have never completed training or misunderstood company regulations because they had to test on it in an online setting that stored all evidence of said testing. This offers a greater deal of protection for companies that may have otherwise been subject to lawsuits or difficult medication processes.

But sadly, not all companies are jumping aboard the e-learning train platform. They are avoiding the switch that they know deep down is inevitable. They are doing this and letting benefits slip through their fingers. And unfortunately, the longer they hold out, the more money they will lose and the less productive and effective their staff will be.

Why is this? Because corporate training is now a $200 billion industry, of which $56.2 billion is in e-learning. By 2015, this figure is expected to grow up to $107 billion. Companies that are not jumping on board yet are missing out on this great opportunity for profits and increased work efficiency. And you would think that enough time has passed that they would be happy to get involved. After all, the e-learning market has just enjoyed its thirteenth birthday and is now a teenager. It has continued to evolve and radically changed how the training industry is run.

As of now, over 70 percent of the global e-learning industry is accounted for by the United States and Europe. E-learning is expected to grow 20 percent in Asia Pacific, too. This massive shift in demographics and technology is helping the growth around the world. Soon Asia Pacific may catch up to the United States and Europe. But for now places like Europe alone have over 3,000 e-learning companies and are not letting their growth within the online industry stop there. This change is permanent and as more companies get on board with the benefits of e-learning and learning management system the world will forever change once again.
